Experience World-Class Golf Every Day at The Neighborhoods of World Golf Village
Homeowners at St. Johns County master-planned golf community The Neighborhoods of World Golf Village enjoy world-class golf right in their backyards every day, with two award-winning golf courses, the King & Bear and the Slammer & Squire.
Nestled between St. Augustine and Jacksonville, Fla., World Golf Village offers 36 holes of golf, top notch practice facilities and delightful dining options. To top it off, homeowners at World Golf Village enjoy exclusive benefits with their membership at King & Bear and Slammer & Squire, with priority and reserved tee times, dining room and pro shop discounts, private clubhouse use privileges, play for cart fees only, VIP guest invitation to the Hall of Fame induction and invitation to member exclusive events, such as leagues, tournaments and social events.
King & Bear at World Golf Village is an 18-hole course featuring loblolly pines and open meadows on the front nine with 200-year-old live oaks complementing the back nine. The signature feature of this course, designed by Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus, is placid lakes edged with large coquina rock. King & Bear hosted the 2001 and 2002 Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf, a Champions Tour Event, as well as a Shell’s Wonderful World of Golf match between Palmer and Nicklaus in 2000. It has also hosted both The PGA Tour Qualifying School and The Champions Tour Qualifying School.
Slammer & Squire is an 18-hole course designed by Bobby Weed with design consultants “The Slammer” Sam Snead and Gene “The Squire” Sarazen. The course features two distinct nines with generous fairways, contoured greens, and plenty of water hazards along with impressive views of the World Golf Hall of Fame. The course was the host site of the Shell’s Wonderful World of Golf, Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf, a Senior PGA Tour Event and currently hosts an array of other golf events such as the Legends Tour event, Handa Cup.
What sets the golf courses at World Golf Village apart from the others is that no detail has been overlooked, from the GPS-equipped golf carts to the iced towels and chilled apples on the first and tenth tees. The staff at both courses know every member by name and the courses are impeccably maintained to the highest standards. In addition, the courses are designed to keep players focused on the game, with no road crossings at Slammer & Squire and only one on King & Bear; and double and triple adjoining fairways that help minimize the impact of real estate on the courses.
